A Introduction

Villagers have rights in all protected forests and some of the reserve forests of Jharkhand. They are also allowed to Concessions, Customary Rights and Rights to Hunt also.

But very few Forest officers know about the Various Protected Forest Rules which were notified by the State Government in under Indian Forest Act, 1927 so that local people can meet there requirements easily and without hindrance. Such Rules are

(i) Chhotanagpur Protected Forest Rules
(ii) Kolhan Protected Forest Rules
(iii) Porahat Protected Forest Rules
(iv) Santhal Pargana Protected Forest Rules
(v) Dalbhum Protected Forest Rules
