A Introduction
This is a Small book on Root
Coiling in Plants raised in tubes. Some species like Khair
(Acacia catechu) has faster growth of primary root which
turns back in of was direction from the bottom of the tube.
But many species like shisham (Dalbergia sisoo), Eucalyptus,
Teak (Tactona grandis) for which seedlings are raised in
beds and transplanted in tubes have problem of root coiling
when larger seedlings are used. To control the problem
seedlings with less then 2.5 cm roots are to be
transplanted.
2. In initial period of ten years healthy seedlings and
saplings and certain species has a certain ratio between
height and collar girth. For healthy growth of a child a
certain range of ratio between the height and weight is to
be maintaned. Similarly there is a correlation between
height and collar girth of plants which comes between 1 to
30 to 1 to 40.
3. Proper Nursery technique is also essential for good
